Sylvie Vartan was a french pop singer also known as a yé-yé artist of the 1960s. I am still completely obsessed with 60s style and want every single cute collared dress in her wardrobe now please!
Recently I saw La Piscine and was super inspired by the fashion, set design and overall mood of the film. I definitely recommend! The movie also has Romy Schneider and Jane Birkin in it who are great style icons worth googling for style ideas if you’ve not already.
Penelope Tree is an English model who was first discovered by Diane Arbus at age 13 and is most well known for her work in the 1960s for vogue magazine and photographers such as Richard Avedon and Cecil Beaton. John Lennon once famously described her as “hot, hot, hot, smart, smart, smart”. Her unique beauty and individual personal style made her an It girl of the generation.
I can definitely appreciate Nico’s minimalist, androgynous style. She was one of Warhol’s Factory Girls and known for her deep hypnotic voice, killer cheekbones and ice-queen persona. More stars of Art Rock to come…

I love the movement that Richard Avedon captures in so many of his photographs as well as the way he portrays women – dramatic while graceful. Many of the above women deserve posts of their own which I will put together soon. I did not even know who Jacqueline de Ribes was until I organized this post!
