Penelope Tree is an English model who was first discovered by Diane Arbus at age 13 and is most well known for her work in the 1960s for vogue magazine and photographers such as Richard Avedon and Cecil Beaton. John Lennon once famously described her as “hot, hot, hot, smart, smart, smart”. Her unique beauty and individual personal style made her an It girl of the generation.

I love the movement that Richard Avedon captures in so many of his photographs as well as the way he portrays women – dramatic while graceful. Many of the above women deserve posts of their own which I will put together soon. I did not even know who Jacqueline de Ribes was until I organized this post!
